New comedy series that was fully filmed and produced in St. Louis, with local talent and crew. The series stars two young women who can never seem to get it right as they navigate a world of perceived perfection with a true earnestness and genuine goof that can only be credited to their Midwest roots and devil-kinda-cares-attitude.
Written, directed, produced by, and starring three best friends and Webster University alumni: Abby Dorning, Jenna McDonald, and CeCe O’Neill -- the short form comedy series has filmed its first two episodes, with the second in post-production eyeing a spring 2020 release date, and a third episode anticipating crowdfunding platforms and local support. “Since meeting in St. Louis in 2011, the three of us have written sketches, created our own projects, and grown with each other in different ways - but we always wanted to make our own show for the place that made us,” says director, CeCe O’Neill, “So it’s especially rewarding to feature some of our favorite parts of St. Louis, like the local restaurants and businesses we’ve filmed at, and the funky, approachable atmosphere they create.” The team also strives for a similar atmosphere on set, leaning on other local women to bring their unique talents and perspectives to development and production.
The series as a whole nods at certain life scenarios experienced by its creators – real friendships, anxiety, depression, professional growth, and more. Its first episode features McDonald and Dorning’s characters facing a few of life’s harsh realities and attempting to remedy their lack of preparedness; ripe for a refreshing angle of life in your Mid-20’s in the Midwest.
